Position at the table

In the first lesson we will talk about an important term: the player’s position at the table. The rookies usually misuse their position at the table or they just don’t know what that means. That is a serious misstep, because your position at the poker table is the key to play your cards on the first action round.
Then, what is the position and how does that influence on the game during the first action round. The position is the location relative to the dealer; the player is sited at the table. The closer to the left of the dealer you are sited, the earlier is your turn. The action round before the flop happens as following. The first two players, left from the dealer, make the obligatory small and big blinds. The first moves are made by the players sited left from the blinds; they are called the early positions. After the early positioned players, the middle positioned players make their decisions. Then is the turn of the late positioned players and at last the players who made the blinds.
Why is the earlier position worse than the late one? The late positioned players take their decisions based on the early player’s actions, and that gives them some advantage in the game. That is why, the better is your position (the later), and the wider is the starting hands range you’ll able to see. About starting cards preferable for the game, we’ll talk in the next lesson.
